Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s orthopedic specialists deliver a full-range of services dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, surgery and rehabilitation of joint, skeletal, and muscular injury and disease.
Our teams offers enhanced mobility and decreased pain to patients suffering from orthopedic disorders caused by trauma, degenerative disease and other conditions.
Whether patients need major orthopedic surgery, sports injury or arthritis care, Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s orthopedic specialists are trained to handle a full range of repairs to knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, foot, ankle, hand and back joints, using advanced technology. Patients take advantage of the hospital’s specialized inpatient unit, on site, state of the art Center for Diagnostic Services, Surgery Center and Center for Rehabilitation Services.
As part of the hospital Minimally Invasive Surgery Center, physicians perform a wide variety of other procedures arthroscopically. The arthroscope enables specialists to easily examine, diagnose and surgically correct a number of disorders, from arthritis to ligament tears, in the knee, hip, shoulder, ankle, wrist and elbow.
Our Services
Our surgeons replace hip, knee and shoulder joints in a new, state-of-the-art Surgery Center. Post surgery recovery takes place in a private patient room located on a specialized orthopedic floor with highly trained orthopedic nursing support.
Outpatient rehabilitation is provided on site at the new Center for Rehabilitation Services, a member of the Hospital For Special Surgery network.
Your Care
Your care begins the first time you walk in our door, normally four to six weeks prior to surgery. Once surgery is scheduled, patients are contacted by the pre-operative screening nurse and the total joint replacement case manager. Often, a physical therapist’s evaluation is scheduled for an added evaluation. This process provides the needed assessments about a patient’s medical condition, lifestyle, goals and expectations.
Monthly orthopedic classes are scheduled to provide an overview of the entire joint replacement process. Introduction to the entire team provides explanations of each and every step including the post surgery, the home recovery environment, special equipment needed and management of other health problems.

Hudson Valley Hospital Center is accredited by the Joint Commission, a national organization that sets high standards for patient care and safety. PUBLIC NOTICE: The Joint Commission conducts accreditation surveys of all hospitals. The purpose of this survey is to evaluate the organization's compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards. The survey results are used to determine whether, and the conditions under which, accreditation should be awarded the organization. Joint Commission standards deal with organization quality and safety-of-care issues and the safety of the environment in which care is provided. Anyone believing that he or she has pertinent and valid information about such matters should contact hospital administration. If these concerns are not resolved by the hospital, you may request a public information interview with the Joint Commission's field representatives at the time of the survey. Information presented at the interview will be carefully evaluated for relevance to the accreditation process.
